Gymnastics is a fantastic activity for Gross Motor Skill development. Kids learn to run, jump, turn upside down in a safe environment using soft landing mats and age appropriate equipment.
Active participation is central to the development of positive attitudes toward learning and the most affective way to learn. We encourage active participation to teach children that they can succeed, that learning is FUN, and that they should always get up and try again.
Lawrence Gymnastics & Athletics offers an exciting and challenging separate preschool area filled with colorful, child-sized equipment for your child to play and learn! Each week we introduce a new, fun theme that will enable self-expression through the motion of gymnastics! Every class ends with pit and trampoline time, and a stamp.

Intermediate Classes build on the basic concepts and skills in beginning classes, and begin introducing more advanced skills on all apparatus. Children also begin connecting multiple skills together, and focusing more on form and how skills are performed. More time is also spent on increasing strength and flexibility.
Advanced Classes continue to introduce gymnasts to more advanced skills and simple routines are taught. Execution of these skills while maintaining good body position is the primary focus. At this level gymnasts are encouraged to participate in local low-keyed performances / competitions.

Lawrence Gymnastics offers competitive gymnastics teams for girl athletes. While the majority of our students never compete in gymnastics many do and we offer choices that will allow them to pursue their desired activity.
After girls have mastered required skills sufficiently, they will be invited to join our completive team and go to low-keyed local competitions. At the lower levels, Girls USAG Bronze – Silver & USAG 4’s we compete in local USAG Sanctioned meets. As they advance, girls have the opportunity to compete in USAG competitions Girls Levels Gold-Platinum & USAG 5-10.
These teams are “Invitation Only”, and placement is only made after students are evaluated. Parents of athletes on the girl’s team are required to join and actively participate in Lawrence Gymnastics Boosters Club organization that supports the teams.
